I took a trip with Compassion International in the Spring of 2007 to visit my sponsored child, Franklin. I could never have prepared myself for the joy of meeting him in person. I learned that the letters he received from me were great treasures to him and that he truly did pray for me and longed to meet me.
Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.” Mother Theresa asserted that social work is not enough, each individual must be met with the love of the living Lord Jesus.
While in Peru, I looked into the eyes of children who looked back into mine. I saw how the Lord was revealing himself to them through us. I felt the Lord calling out to me through them.
Because of this I am partnering with Compassion as a member of their Advocate Network. I am available to speak to your church or group as an official representative of Compassion, “speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
